Vivid latest: PayID hack, demo day, team update
PayID Block-Sprint Hackathon
Last month we took part in the PayID Block-Sprint hackathon to use PayID technology within our live streaming on demand platform, Peerkat.
PayID is a simple protocol for sending and receiving payments in any currency, where users have human-readable identifiers rather than using account numbers or public keys.
We experimented with PayID to explore the options for our users, we are striving to provide the most efficient and inclusive user experience possible, and we were delighted to be recognised with an award from the Block-Sprint judges!
Conception X demo day
Last week we took part in the Conception X demo day where 10 deep tech startups founded by PhD students had the opportunity to present their companies and products to a wide audience of professionals, academics and investors.
Conception X has been running since 2018 and helps PhD researchers build deep tech startups, the application form for joining the next cohort is live.
We were pleased to be presenting alongside some incredibly innovative companies on the demo day, check out our profile here in the Conception X digital pitch book.
The final part of this update is to confirm 3 new additions at Vivid IoV Labs, we have added experienced developers Daniele Bolla and Nikos Tziralis to the team along with graphic designer Dean Macgregor.
Daniele is a frontend developer from Italy; Nikos is based in Athens, Greece and is developing the back end of the platform; while Dean is Edinburgh-based and will work on design assets & enhancing the user flow. We are excited to expand the team and look forward to the next phase of progress, including our Grant for the Web project to improve monetisation options for content creators and the integration with the ThunderCore community.
