Following our hackathon success during UCL and Ripple’s Block-Sprint 2019, we were invited to join the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies Industry Alliance.
Founded in 2016, the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies was established to research and promote the safe development and adoption of distributed ledger technologies and blockchain-based platforms.
In addition to working with Ripple, the UCL CBT also recently joined forces with Hedera Hashgraph.
What is the UCL CBT Industry Alliance?
The Industry Alliance is a community of over 180 academics and organisations utilising distributed ledger technologies and blockchain. In addition to research and exclusive events, the alliance creates opportunities for organisations to collaborate on projects.
The network includes the likes of Oracle, Quant Network and NuCypher, while the Block-Sprint 2019 hackathon attracted participation from Google, Hitachi and Disney.
Vivid IoV Labs connections with UCL
In addition to Block-Sprint and the Industry Alliance, Vivid IoV Labs has gained support and guidance from UCL CBT leadership in directors Paolo Tasca and Nikhil Vadgama. We are grateful for this stewardship and look forward to building upon our growing relationship with the CBT.
Yo-Der Song, one of the founders of Vivid IoV Labs, is doing his PhD in Computer Science at UCL.
